KS2 SATs past papers (2024 to 2026)
Where to find the real Year 6 SATs papers and mark schemes, and how to use them at home.
The Standards and Testing Agency (STA) publishes the real Year 6 SATs papers and mark schemes for free on GOV.UK. GOV.UK now keeps only the past three years of test materials, so this page links the 2024 to 2026 sets, says what is in each one, and how to use them at home without turning the kitchen table into an exam hall.

What Is in Each Set and How Long It Takes
A full set is six papers. These are the timings from STA’s 2026 test administration guidance:
- English grammar, punctuation and spelling Paper 1: questions: 45 minutes
- English grammar, punctuation and spelling Paper 2: spelling: about 15 minutes
- English reading: 60 minutes
- Mathematics Paper 1: arithmetic: 30 minutes
- Mathematics Paper 2: reasoning: 40 minutes
- Mathematics Paper 3: reasoning: 40 minutes
How to Mark Them and What the Score Means
- Mark each paper with the mark scheme from the same year’s set.
- Add up the raw marks: maths is the three papers together (out of 110), reading is out of 50 and GPS is the two papers together (out of 70).
- Look the total up in that year’s scaled score table. A scaled score of 100 or more means the expected standard.
For more detail, see how SATs papers are marked and the raw to scaled score tables.
Using Past Papers Without the Stress
- Do one paper at a time, not a whole set in one sitting.
- Start with arithmetic: it is short and quick to mark.
- Go over the wrong answers together, then come back to that topic a few days later.
